Your piece has left me feeling conflicted. I am a 75 yo white woman who is really struggling to find a way to resist our current regime. You have given me a lot to think about. Thanks.

I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking, since January, most of us have read, thought, felt, questioned ourselves and others, about everything you touch on.

Truth is, right here on this app is a damn good assortment of profiles addressing community outreach (start small, food assistance, help neighbors, establish local networks); resistance, as applied currently, like boycotts, voting, buying local; and resistance that meets in a pub but walks out sober and intent on action.

But in 2026, with our 1s and 0s leaving a trail all over the place, it feels like we're navigating a minefield leading to a cliff. We're told to do as Gandhi would because Toussaint Louverture, in this moment, might wake Mr Marshall Lawe and lock everything down permanently.

But, like you say, I hear the chatter but here in my red state, I don't know who'd meet me at that pub.
