I looked up Texas 'Retrials' & the standard "Texas Rules of Evidence" September 1, 2025 & "Texas Rule of Evidence Rules 401 & 402" appear. It reads like Texas sticks with original evidence & proceedings. But, also found info on presenting "New Evidence" that is critical for Texas Criminal Appeals. This noted, "may only be offered a motion for a new trial or in a post conviction 'writ for habeas corpus'."
I hope Karmelo is able to hire an expert litigation attorney, & I pray his case is overturned due to the prejudicial nature of that Court & Jury. That young man, & every black person & individual defined by a color, or preference for that matter, deserve much better,... a whole lot better!
I think he ended up with a public defender. If so, he can’t afford a great attorney unless one steps up to fight for him. I’m hoping Jasmine Crockett goes for it, but she’s got more political aspirations than law anymore. I was moved by what she said about the case.
Wish there was some way he could get a retrial with a better jury--his defense team didn't do it's job. And WTF about the judge?! Didn't hear about that but FFS, he should have recused himself. I think the sentence was way too steep as well. Like you say, he's also just a kid, and kids make poor decisions.
It'll take many, many years to appeal that whole thing. Typically 10-15 years before it's accomplished. That judge knew what he was doing and said he sleeps like a baby. Something is wrong with that judge. Rumor has it he's a racist, too.
That judge is plainly unfit to serve. It would be interesting research on that judge's cases, sentencing records & when he didn't recuse himself when he should have.
It's become evident the father of the young man that died may very well be a racist. So, there may be police incident reports or records of similar altercations initiated by that family available.

Then ttrump started his freaking birther movement and I knew better. Watched the opening of the Obama Library and actually had thrills at the complete sentences, respect and love between the Obama's and especially Hillary Clinton's cackle. I really hate now.

A man I know was just charged with one of the most heinous crimes. Possessing pictures of child porn - including babies. I have the same reaction to white supremacists. Why? Don't you know its wrong? What is missing in your emotional make up? How can you be so wrong at the basic level?

My kidneys are bothering me, but I’m trying to avoid going to the idiots at our VA-ER here. They’re just not worth much and I’ve had this problem before. It never got diagnosed correctly, even though I was in there for 2 shift-changes. I forgot what they did in the end. Almost killed me with morphine. SMFH 🙄
My sympathies. They keep an eye on mine because one of my numbers goes all over the map. So far, no problems just too many tests. Latest test revealed cysts, but she's not too concerned because she doesn't want to see me for 6 months and ordered a cat scan.
That's an awful lot of pain for them to give you morphine! Hope you figure out what they did to relieve it and you can do it at home.
